Studying abroad in Costa Rica was one of the most formative parts of my own environmental journey.

Finca Ganadito, Osa Peninsula

Spend a week in the Osa Peninsula, home to 2.5% of the world's biodiversity and described by National Geographic as the most biologically intense place on earth. You'll work alongside local guides at Finca Ganadito on regenerative farming, biodiversity monitoring and data collection, wildlife observation, and sea turtle ecology, with optional excursions to Corcovado National Park and Caño Island.

What's included: 7 nights' accommodation, three vegan/vegetarian meals a day, a free Worldpackers Pack+ membership (worth $129 USD), two one-hour Spanish classes, local guidance and support on the ground, and a certificate recognizing your participation.

What you can count on

Trips are kept small on purpose so everyone gets real hands-on time with local guides and fellow travelers, rather than just observing from the back of a crowd.
Activities are led by local guides who know the land and the community firsthand. Your presence directly supports regional farms and grassroots conservation efforts, not large-scale corporations.
Lodging and sustainable, plant-based meals are included, so there’s less for you to plan and worry about. Pricing varies depending on the destination and length, but if cost is ever a barrier, please reach out - making this accessible matters to me.
While you don't need an environmental background, these trips are generally active. Expect to spend full days outdoors, whether that looks like weeding and mulching on a working farm, going on an hour-long hike through a rainforest, or waking up at 5am for biodiversity monitoring. Comfort with physical work will help you make the most of it.
Visa rules depend on your passport and the destination, but I’ll always share clear, specific entry guidance when a trip opens. You’ll also receive a certificate recognizing your participation.
