Climate solutions with Project Drawdown
“If you educate a girl, you educate a nation.”* According to Project Drawdown’s Table of Solutions, a comprehensive list of science-backed climate solutions, educating girls is one of the most effective ways to mitigate climate change.
While my work this year has revolved around conservation in Kenya, the one place that has impacted me the most is @darajaacademy. This school’s unique model of education and empowerment churns out some of the brightest and confident girls I’ve had the pleasure of meeting, who are committed to social and environmental change.
If there’s one thing you can do to invest in the future of girls, and thus the future of the climate, it is to support Daraja Academy! This is not an ad at all; I am genuinely just obsessed with this everything that this institution stands for. The first clip in this video is when I participated in their annual #Race4Daraja campaign, where anyone from around the world can run/walk/cycle to fundraise for their cause!
*This proverb is often attributed to Dr. James Kwegyir-Aggrey, a Ghanaian educator.
